Feasibility Study of SLDE Implementation

Problem:

Over the last 5 years industrial electricity prices have increased at a staggering rate alongside an ever-increasing drive to reduce carbon emissions.

Solution:

C2 Technology proposed the installation of a MECS as a SLDE to extract power from the pressure reduction process. A proportion of the steam will be expanded through the MECS generating low cost, grid compliant, electricity.

C2 Technology carried out the feasibility study for a 50kW MECS SLDE system.

Results/Benefits:

The installation of the 50kW MECS SLDE is predicted to achieve a net generation of 420MWh of low cost electricity per year with a payback period of less than 2 years and a CO2 emission reduction of 68tons.
